What Does “40% Amla Extract” Actually Mean?

Never compare the number without the marker.

“40% Amla” is not a sufficiently precise technical specification. A buyer should know whether the 40% refers to total polyphenols, tannins, ellagic acid or another defined parameter.

40% must identify the assay

40% Total Polyphenols

A high stated concentration of the measured polyphenol fraction, assuming the assay basis and specification are clearly defined.

40% Total Tannins

A different specification focused on the tannin fraction. It cannot be treated as equivalent to 40% polyphenols.
